John Healy, Peter Callahan, Kyle Narkiewicz and E.A. Spencer Gray led a relentless scoring attack as the Savannah College of Art and Design men’s lacrosse team exploded for seven goals in the third period, breaking open a tight game to defeat Eckerd College 16-3 at the SCAD Athletics Complex Feb. 10.

The win moves the 11th-ranked Bees to 2-1 after they defeated Georgia Southern University 17-2 Feb. 8.

Callahan scored 30 seconds into the second frame. The Bees continued the attack with Narkiewicz scoring twice and Stewart Yost and Healy once each, giving SCAD a 5-0 advantage at halftime.

The second half started with a successful defensive rush. Rocco Avellino picked up a loose ball and sprinted to the attack zone, where he fired a pass to Healy, who immediately found Callahan for the score.

After Eckerd grabbed its first point, Healy, Gray, A.J. Getz and Michael Molinaro all scored. In the final period, Gray, Healy, Yost and Narkiewicz all scored again for the 16-3 win.

Healy led all scorers with four goals, while Yost and Narkiewicz chipped in three apiece. Callahan and Gray each scored a pair of goals.
