Members of comedy troupe The Second City will entertain audiences at SCAD’s Trustees Theater Feb. 4.

Published: Friday, January 28, 2005

Through every political scandal, cultural milestone and public disgrace, The Second City has created hysterical comedy out of our country’s hysteria. Along the way, The Second City also has produced North America’s greatest comic talents, such as Alan Arkin, Robert Klein, Gilda Radner, John Belushi, Bill Murray, Mike Myers, Tina Fey and many, many more.

“The Second City’s 45th Anniversary Tour” provides a cultural index of how much we’ve needed to laugh through the years.

The concept is simple: Six actors augmented by a musical accompanist and a sound and lighting director perform a two-act revue featuring unique satirical humor. Drawing from the vast archives of material that The Second City has created over 45 years, The Second City touring companies also create on-the-spot, topical comedy that changes with every performance.

The Second City’s 45th Anniversary Tour visits Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St., Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 with a valid SCAD ID or $20 for general public and may be purchased by calling the SCAD box office at 525-5050.

The following cast members are scheduled to perform at SCAD: Rebecca Sage Allen, Alex Fendrich, Nicky Margolis, Lori McClain, Andy St. Clair and Craig Uhlir. Joe Grazulis is the musical director, and Josh Miller is the stage manager.
