Foundation studies professor explores local landscape
The unique colors of Savannah are a focus in foundation studies professor Sherran Deems’ work. By Monique Bos Published: Friday, July 14, 2006 Sherran Deems, a Savannah College of Art and Design foundation studies professor, examines local color in her exhibition “Landscape Revisited,” on display at the Pinnacle Gallery, 320 E. Liberty St., through Aug. 13. Deems, who earned Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University, studies the “special language” communicated by the trees, clouds, colors of the sky, heat shimmering in the air and fog over the marshes — all aspects of the landscape of Savannah and its environs. A reception for Deems’ exhibition will be held at the gallery July 28, 5-7 p.m. |
