Student lab computer login changes
Starting winter quarter, the login process for student lab Apple computers is changing. To log in to the computers, students must have an e-mail address, username and password for their SCAD e-mail account.

The SCAD NetID is the username portion of the e-mail address. (For example, if the student’s e-mail address is jsmith@scad.edu, then the SCAD NetID is jsmith.) The password is the student’s e-mail password, which is not the same as the MySCAD password.

Students who do not know their e-mail password should go to the computer services help desk to have it reset. The help desk is located in the Dyson House computer lab at 121 W. Boundary St.

Auditions for ‘Cannibal! The Musical’
SCAD’s media and performing arts department will hold auditions for the winter quarter lab show, “Cannibal! The Musical” by Trey Parker (“South Park,” “Team America”) and directed by M.F.A. candidate Troy Heard.

Auditions will be held Jan. 6 at 6 p.m. in Room 114, Crites Hall, 217 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Individuals auditioning are requested to bring a short comedic monologue and 16 bars of a prepared song. Show performances will be on Feb. 27-28.

For further information, contact Heard at theard20@student.scad.edu.

Presidential Fellowship for Faculty Development interest meeting
Full-time faculty members interested in applying for a Presidential Fellowship for Faculty Development for summer 2005 are invited to attend an informational meeting on January 14 from 1-2 p.m. in room 101, Pepe Hall. The application deadline for Summer 2005 awards, which cover the June 1 - Aug. 31 funding period, is Feb. 15. Karen Davies, director of faculty development, will review the application guidelines and answer questions.

For more information, contact Davies at kdavies@scad.edu or 525-5828. Reservations are required.

Winter intramurals heat up
This winter, SCAD intramurals offer students, faculty and staff members the chance to participate in basketball, volleyball and dodgeball. An interest meeting is scheduled Jan. 5 at 9:30 p.m. in the Oglethorpe House Ballroom, 201 W. Oglethorpe Ave.

Games will be held Sunday - Thursday evenings at St. Paul’s gym downtown, with the season running Jan. 16 - Feb. 28.

Each sport is coed, and there are limited spaces for teams, so sign up early. Anyone who is interested in playing but isn’t part of a team can sign up as a “free agent” and be placed on a team that needs players. A captains and free agents meeting is slated for Jan. 12 at 9:30 p.m. in the Oglethorpe House Ballroom, and final rosters are due by Jan. 14.

In addition, experienced volleyball and basketball officials are needed. Qualified candidates interested in earning extra cash are encouraged to apply.

For more information, visit www.scadathletics.com, or contact Jennifer Levo, director of intramurals, at jlevo@scad.edu.

Student Center construction set to begin next month
Planning for the Savannah College of Art and Design student center continues on track, according to Senior Vice President of College Resources Glenn Wallace Jr. “Only the final preliminary approvals are needed. We expect to begin construction in early- to mid-January with completion during fall 2005,” he said. SCAD announced acquisition of the former St. Andrew’s Independent Episcopal Church building, located at 112 Montgomery St., in January 2003. “Innovative plans include creative sound and light displays that will give the building its own mood cycle throughout the day,” said Wallace.
