Liberal arts department offers new elective A new liberal arts English elective, Anglo-Irish Literature, will be offered beginning in the winter quarter. The course is inspired by the Book Journeys exhibition on Jonathan Swifts Gullivers Travels on display at the Earle W. Newton Center for British-American Studies located in Kiah Hall. The course explores Ireland through its literature and its relationship with Britain and the United States from the 18th century to the present. The course uses the novel to explore questions surrounding national identity, culture, gender, politics and history and also incorporates aspects of Irish art, architecture and film. Students seeking a dynamic English elective are encouraged to register for the course and can contact Bob Frigo for more details at bfrigo@scad.edu. |
