Church celebrates mothers Several presenters will share, “Things I always wanted to say to my mother but may have not said to her all at once,” May 9, 11 a.m., at the Unitarian Church of Savannah at the corner of Habersham and Harris streets. Celebrate bird migration with a tour Diana Churchill will lead a bird watching tour May 9, 8:30-10 a.m., at the Savannah-Ogeechee Canal Museum and Nature Center, 681 Fort Argyle Road, to commemorate International Migratory Bird Day. Get busy with a business A seminar, “Getting Started in Your Own Business,” will be held May 13, 6:15-8:15 p.m., in the conference room of the Small Business Assistance Center, 111 E. Watch a pot A pottery-making demonstration will be held May 15, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, 767 Clifton Road. The demonstration is included with museum admission and is free for museum members. Admission is $12 for adults, $11 for students and senior and $10 for children 12 and under. Get swamped “Swamp Thing,” a lantern-lit walk along the banks of the historic Savannah Ogeechee barge canal, will be held May 29, 7:30-9:30 p.m., at the Ogeechee Canal Museum and Nature Center, 681 Fort Argyle Road. Tours will be offered every 15 minutes throughout the evening. The tour is on existing low-impact trails that will be lot. Groups of 15 or more are encouraged to make reservations. Admission is $5.
