(From left to right) Richard S. Thompson, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia, and Demery R. Bishop, director of Crimestoppers, talk with SCAD graphic design graduate student Chris Hunter and illustration professor Don Rogers at Chatham Area Transit headquarters on Gwinnett Street Oct. 15. The four gathered for the unveiling of Hunters illustration that was wrapped on a CAT bus to promote Crimestoppers Project Ceasefire/Project Safe Neighborhood. Hunter was one of three students whose work was used for the campaign. Illustrations done by students Maxwell Bare and Sandra Audia will be used for print media and billboards. The work was created as part of a project in last falls Advertising Illustration course. We as a class became part of the community, said Rogers. We all are concerned about crime in downtown Savannah. The work we did in class went through several revisions and clarifications by the helpfulness of those from Crimestoppers, the Savannah Police Department and the justice department. Graphic design department chair Trudie Abadie-Fail also assisted with the project. She is really responsible for this happening in the illustration department, Rogers said. She really assisted with technical computer software issues after the art was completed. |
