(From left to right) SCAD graduate student Pete Gudmundson, sophomore Reginald Harris, Auburn University sophomore Neshmond Fluellen and SCAD juniors Brad Hooley, Chip Hall and Ben Guthrie discuss possible concepts for the product/industrial design charrette Jan. 17 in Fahm Hall. The product/industrial design department hosted the charrette Jan. 16-18. More than 250 students from SCAD and colleges across the region, including Georgia Tech and Auburn University, participated in the event. Charrette participants were asked to develop a device that would allow fire employees to better communicate during an emergency. The guest speaker was Bruce Claxton from Motorola. The students displayed their designs in a final presentation at the Oglethorpe House ballroom and the charrette concluded with a closing party and awards ceremony at Pei Ling Chan Gallery. |
