Gala-goers get down

Attendees of the Savannah College of Art and Design's annual Scholarship Gala Jan. 17 dance to the sounds of the band "Permanent Tourist" in Orleans Hall. The evening also a silent auction of artwork donated by SCAD staff, faculty, alumni, students and community members, and a sampling of cuisine from Savannah restaurants such as Elizabeth on 37th, 45 South, Belford's Savannah, 17 Hundred 90, Bistro-Savannah. More than 500 people attended the gala, which raised about $75,000 to benefit the SCAD scholarship fund. The fund aids a number of distinguished students in support of talents and academic achievements each year.
