Attendees of the Savannah College of Art and Design's annual Scholarship Gala Jan. 17 dance to the sounds of the band "Permanent Tourist" in Orleans Hall. The evening also a silent auction of artwork donated by SCAD staff, faculty, alumni, students and community members, and a sampling of cuisine from Savannah restaurants such as Elizabeth on 37th, 45 South, Belford's Savannah, 17 Hundred 90, Bistro-Savannah. More than 500 people attended the gala, which raised about $75,000 to benefit the SCAD scholarship fund. The fund aids a number of distinguished students in support of talents and academic achievements each year. |
