Galleries department issues call for entries
"Low Country Landscapes," an annual group exhibition featuring artwork which interprets and reflects the landscape of the region, will be held in Exhibit A Gallery March 5 to April 30. This exhibition offers an opportunity for artists to sell work in a retail gallery. All students, faculty, staff and alumni of the Savannah College of Art and Design are invited to submit slides of original artwork for consideration. For a complete list of guidelines, call Joanne Owen at 525-6990 or e-mail jowen@scad.edu.

Entries must be hand-delivered or mailed to Owen at the Pei Ling Chan Gallery, 322 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The deadline for submissions is Feb. 12. No late entries will be accepted. Artists will be notified of acceptance by Feb. 14.


Department also seeks wearable art
The galleries department also is seeking unique, fun, affordable and whimsical original pieces of wearable art to sell in Exhibit A Gallery. The department is especially interested in work that would be suitable for sale around Valentine’s Day. Submissions should be made in slide or digital image form only and should include a price list, résumé and artist’s statement. Submissions should be hand-delivered or mailed to Kendall Maginnis at Red Gallery, 201 E. Broughton St. For more information, call 525-4735.


SCAD offers free services with Hook Towing
Need a jump start? Locked your keys in the car? SCAD transportation and parking services and Hook Towing are now offering students, faculty and staff free lock-out and jump-start services within the downtown area. In the event of a breakdown, Hook Towing is also offering half price towing to the garage of your choice. TIAA-CREF plans counseling sessions
SCAD and TIAA-CREF invite staff and faculty to attend a free, one-on-one counseling session with a TIAA-CREF consultant, Feb. 4-6, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., in the human resources conference room in Keys Hall, 516 Abercorn St. Interested participants can schedule an appointment to have financial questions answered by an expert consultant by visiting www.tiaa-cref.org/moc, or calling (800) 842-2003.


Golf tour offers SCAD employee special

Memorial Health consolidates UrgentOne office
Memorial Health’s Georgia-based UrgentOne (urgent care facility) operations have been consolidated and will operate only from the location directly in front of Savannah Mall, 14089 Abercorn St. Hours of operation are Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., and the phone number is 350-2121. WorkOne, the treatment facility for work related injuries, (previously located in Garden City) has moved to the Savannah Mall UrgentOne address and can be reached at 350-8970. WorkOne is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The South Carolina UrgentOne facility located in Hilton Head, 460 William Hilton Parkway, Suite H, will continue to operate Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., and the phone number is (843) 342-7425.


Competition open to students
The department of health and wellness invites all SCAD students to create an image to advertise events associated with the spring 2003 wellness conference, "Catch the Spirit," May 10. The winning entry will win $200 in cash, and the runner-up will receive a $50 gift certificate to Ex Libris. The deadline is Jan. 31.
